History

SMC Metal Fabricators, Inc. started in business in 1943 as a coal and fuel oil distributor. Doing some maintenance welding, the company became well known for the ability to repair and do production welding on a variety of different parts. Soon after, the company started to add fabrication machines to enhance its ability to provide more services to its customers. It was not many years later that the coal and fuel oil businesses were abandoned for complete fabrication services. In the late 1980's the technological additions included Laser Cutting, CNC Punch / Form, Robotic Welding, a Powder Coating Line, and Assembly. Now SMC Metal Fabricators, Inc. is able to provide complete contract manufacturing to its customers.

SMC Metal Fabricators, Inc. has positioned itself as a "Supplier of Choice" in the market segment that requires specialized sheet metal and light plate fabricated products in the gauge material sizes up to and including 5/8 inch.

1998/1999 - Consolidate 3 sites into a new 115,000 sq ft building designed for SMC Fabrication flow
1999/2000 - Second laser and two new CNC press brakes
2001 - New management team: Excellent equipment and processes in place.focus on customer needed
2006 - Third laser added and new 175 ton press brake
2007 - New powder coat paint dry-off/cure oven
2008 - Second turret punch added and support equipment
